Charity Golf Tournament

At MAK Construction, we pride ourselves in having strong core values, one of which being Make a Difference - we are committed to building stronger communities through supporting local charities and annual events. Giving back to those in need is important to us.

Since 2019, MAK Construction has organized a local charity golf tournament to raise money to support local causes and specifically to help those in need.

We were also able to present a check of $5,000 to our local Grand Forks FOP Lodge 2.

Our 6th Annual Golf Tournament took an unexpected turn due to weather, preventing us from hitting the greens. Despite the rain, our amazing sponsors and generous registrants came through, enabling us to fulfill our mission. We raised $16,500 to proudly Back the Blue and support our community!

Emma Basting Project

In December of 2017, three year old Emma Basting was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a form of childhood cancer that left her paralyzed from the waist down.  She and her family lived in a farmhouse outside of Thompson, ND that wasn't close to wheelchair accessible. When they were finally able to leave the hospital and come home, their struggles continued because the farmhouse wasn’t suitable for a child in a wheelchair.  Emma also needed 24/7 care and physical therapy in the home.

MAK Construction reached out to Brandi, Emma’s mom, to see what they could do to help.  As it turned out, they needed a contractor to take on this pretty extensive project to make the farmhouse wheelchair accessible. We were willing to dive in and do whatever it took to make their house a comfortable home that Emma and her family could thrive in.  This was 100% a community involved project with a majority of the time and materials donated.

Food Drive

Each holiday season, MAK Construction is proud to support The HC Community Care Center & Food Pantry's holiday food drive to support our local food bank. The HC Community Care Center & Food Pantry is a nonprofit organization based in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Their vision is to serve others with the love of Jesus Christ, offering those in need opportunities to receive physical, emotional, and spiritual support while empowering them to have a sustainable future.
